The long awaited opening of the seven screen cinema and shopping complex in South Tenerife has finally arrived. The doors finally opened on the 3rd August 2007 and are now ready to admit members of an eager public.

The Gran Sur complex in Fanabe, Adeje is much more than a cinema although this alone has a capacity for over 1000 film goers at any one time. The Gran Sur centre is home to big name shops, restaurants, and supermarkets including McDonalds, Mercadona and CajaCanarias.

Some of the other shops that can be found in the Gran Sur shopping centre include Passion which supply top quality ladies underwear, Friday's Project supplying a wide range of clothes, Springfield, Inter-Sport and Antiquities Muebles.

Antiquities 2 are a small decoration shop with a wide range of products mainly from Indonesia. In their show room you will find oil paintings, Bali Vases, dried flowers, lamps, candles, jewelry, leather and snake handbags, snake wallets and ladies purses. Have a look at their beautiful range of tea sets, mirrors and photo frames imported from Malang.

Antiquities in La Chafiras San Miguel has a 1700m show room and have everything to furnish your Villa or Apartment with. Teak or rattan furniture also beautiful Gazebos in bamboo. A selection of sunbeds and terrace sets for around your pool all at a competitive price.

The staff speak Spanish, English, French, and Russian and are trained in interior design. Antiquities are happy to come to your home for your every assistance and can offer advice on house packages.

Antiquities are open every day at Gran Sur from 10am until 10 pm Monday to Saturday. Sunday11-30am until 10pm.

Shopping, whether it be for fashion or homewares can become tedious if you dont know where to go. Many of the shops on Tenerife only sell souveneirs, but where do you go if you want something to wear, or maybe you need something for your new home?. In Los Cristianos you will find Avenida de Suisse where you can buy most things for your home, yourself and family. You will also find shops in and around Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas selling known brands such as Nike and Lacoste. Another good place to shop for homewares is in Las Chafiras, here you will find just about everything you need to furnish your new home. Two shops worth a look are Textile Sur, and Chafiras. Food shopping can be expensive if you use the supermarkets that cater for the tourists, head for Mercadona in the Gran Sur centre, or the Hiper Trebol and Hiper Dino, even these supermarkets have a few English products such as Heinz.

If you fancy a drive to Santa Cruz (the capital of Tenerife) Carrefour is definitely worth a visit, situated off the TF-1 at Urb. Añaza. Here you will find an array of shops, some you may even recognise from England. Carrefour itself is a Supermarket selling just about everything from Food to Televisions. In Santa Cruz head for El Corte Ingles, a huge department store on a number of floors. You will find just about everything you need under one roof, it also has its own underground car park. Before you leave Santa Cruz, a visit to the market is a must, here you will find an abundance of Fruit and Veg stalls and Flowers, many of which are grown on the island.

Internet shopping hasn´t taken off here yet, some of the big retailers have web sites but few let you buy online.
